A Friend Comes Home
In a couple of weeks, soul sister will be returning to Blackshear. Her attitude is about like mine: once we leave Moultrie this last time, we're not going back. She has a court date of December 15 for her divorce proceedings, and she's fully intent on being there and making sure it goes through. She's had it with him, and I don't blame her. It's been a years since he started going through his "changes," and she has tried to make the marriage work. I'm sorry her marriage didn't work out, but I'm glad she saw the light and decided to cut her ties to him and go on with her life.
During these 13 months, his behavior degenerated from a responsible husband to a dishonest, manipulative adulterer. At first, it looked like he had turned all their mutual friends against her. However, as time passed, people saw him for what he was and withdrew from him. It's been said before, but I'll say it again: what goes around comes around. You can't keep lying to, using, hurting nor mistreating people and expect them to hang around. He gave his girlfriends money and paid their bills, but when he got into trouble, who did he turn to for help? That's right! His wife. He wanted his freedom to do as he pleased, but he still wanted her around as the safety net. Once she found out he was still lying to her and using her, she cut the strings to the net. He's now in jail for writing bad checks, and I've been told he'll be there until February. Everyone has abandoned him: his family, his friends, his girlfriends, his church, and now his soon-to-be-ex wife. Yep, what went around came around ... and smacked him upside his head!
